In November 2024, I visited a leading Paediatrician in Kalyan who is a prolific user of vaccines, including Hepatitis A vaccines like Biovac A and Havrix, with a combined usage of nearly 100 vials per month. I gathered this data through various vaccine stockists in my area.

During my visit, I presented Havisure 0.5 ml LBL to the Doctor by highlighting its key USPs:

1.India’s first Indigenous Hepatitis A vaccine.

2.Inactivated vaccine with superior safety and immunogenicity compared to Havrix. I also discussed the strain HM175 (which is same as that in the established Hep-A vaccine brand).

3.Longer shelf life (3 years vs. 2 years of the Live attenuated Hepatitis-A vaccine).

4.Insights from the WHO position paper on the Live attenuated Hepatitis-A vaccine and it’s duration of protection.

5.Cost-effectiveness compared to other Hepatitis A vaccines available in the market.

These discussions helped the Doctor to have confidence in Havisure, leading to an initial order of 100 vials of Havisure 0.5 ml, which got supplied immediately. I also introduced Havisure 1 ml, ours is the only company who has 1 ml pack. This further impressed the Doctor. His role as the purchasing authority at that Children’s Hospital, where four other paediatricians practice, resulted in an additional 300 vials of Havisure 1 ml being ordered. The Hospital also started awareness vaccination to parents along with the children as Hepatitis A is highly contagious.

This success was made possible through the guidance of my seniors, SM -Rajesh Sir and RE -Ramesh Sir, whose mentorship helped me to discuss clinical trials and the WHO position paper confidently. I also extend my gratitude to the HO team.

Looking ahead, I plan to conduct an RTM with the Doctor and his colleagues, inviting 3–4 non-prescribers to expand our reach further.
